Environment Illinois Staff
Bruce Ratain directs Environment Illinois's Clean Energy and Global Warming Programs. Bruce led Environment Illinois's effort to help pass historic clean energy provisions in the Illionois State Legislature in late 2011. Bruce's current campaigns include transitioning Chicago and the state away from dirty energy, re-powering Illinois with clean energy and energy efficiency, and moving Illinois off of oil.
In 2010, Bruce conducted research for Environment Illinois's report surveying and aggregating the Illinois energy efficiency industry for the first time, and he continues work to promote efficiency in Chicago and statewide.
Bruce earned a degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics from Tufts University, during which time he interned for Congressman Eliot Engel, working in part on environmental policy, served as a committee chair in the Student Senate, and researched international environmental negotiations at the Tufts Fletcher School.
