Environment Illinois Advocate, Max Muller spoke at a press event about BP’s proposed expansion in 2008. Our advocacy and organizing helped stop the expansion, which would have led to hundreds more pounds of toxic waste being dumped in Lake Michigan. Environment Illinois has since helped win numberous victories for Lake Michigan, including cleaning up mercury and other industrial toxins that accumulate in the lake and stopping pollution from power plants and refineries.
