Ameren Illinois is the primary electric utility for Central and Southern Illinois. Under legislation passed in 2007, Ameren is scheduled to spend over $60 million on energy efficiency programs through 2010.
Ameren's program offerings are divided into solutions "For My Home" (for its residential customers) and "For My Business" (for its commercial & industrial customers). Ameren also offers programs for contractors working in Ameren's service territory. RESIDENTIAL SOLUTIONS
Ameren Illinois has a number of programs available to help its residential customers become more energy efficient.
Through its Energy Star rebates program, Ameren Illinois is offering financial incentives for new Energy Star air conditioners, ceiling fans, and dehumidifiers. For more information on how to take advantage of these rebates, click here or on the link above.
Ameren is offering financial incentives for energy-saving CFL light bulbs. These bulbs can be purchased via Ameren's online store, at participating retail stores, or through calling Ameren at 1-866-845-7085. Ameren's energy-efficient CFL page also features links on CFL recycling and CFL savings info.
Refrigerator & Freezer Recycling
Your old refrigerator or freezer may be costing you $100 a year in excess energy bills. But under Ameren's program, they'll come pick it up from you and giving you $35 -- in addition to the savings you'll see on your utility bills each month.

Planning to build a new home? Ameren's Energy Star new homes program assists homeowners and builders in the construction of new homes by providing:
- Construction and equipment recommendations prior to building
- Financial incentives for builders
- An post-construction energy efficiency inspection to ensure ENERGY STAR standards have been met

Under Ameren's home energy performance program, Ameren is providing significant financial incentives for energy efficient measures like air sealing, attic insulation, wall insulation, duct sealing, and programmable thermostats.
These incentives are only available through Act On Energy program allies, however, so be sure to visit the home energy performance program page for a list of participating contractors.
New Heating & Air Conditioning
Energy-efficient air conditioners, furnaces, and geothermal systems can bring you significant monthly savings on energy costs. And under Ameren's heating & air conditioning programs, you may be eligible to receive financial incentives for incorporating these technologies into your home.
Depending on the efficiency of the new equipment you have installed, your discount could be as high as $200 for a new high-efficiency gas furnace and up to $720 for a new high-efficiency cooling unit. Click here for more information on program incentives, eligibility, and how to participate.
E-Smart Programmable Thermostats

BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
Ameren's Commercial & Industrial programs provide financial assistance to support implementation of high-efficiency opportunities—ones involving modernizing facilities or improving industrial processes. Ameren's C & I programs also include financial incentives for energy efficient electric products already readily available in the marketplace.
These programs are available only for commercial or industrial electric customers of AmerenCILCO, AmerenCIPS, or AmerenIP (collectively referred to as Ameren Illinois Utilities or AIU).
Under Ameren's lighting program for businesses, financial incentives may be available for high-performance or low wattage lamps, LED exit signs, new fixtures, and occupancy sensors. Note that all projects must be pre-approved before you purchase the equipment or begin the project.

The following refrigeration financial incentives are available to electric customers of the Ameren Illinois Utilities:
- Strip curtains on walk-in coolers or freezers
- Automatic door closers for walk-in freezers
- Anti-sweat heater controls
- High-efficiency ice makers

Through Ameren's motor system incentives program, financial incentives are available for upgrades of open drip-proof motors or totally enclosed fan-cooled motors. Incentive amounts are based on motor size and efficiency. Click here for more information.
Through its HVAC program for businesses, Ameren is providing financial incentives for upgrades of air conditioning systems, air source heat pumps, air-cooled chillers or to add a variable frequency drive to HVAC motors. Small Business Commercial Kitchens
Ameren Illinois gas customers with a commercial kitchen are eligible to receive a free Green Pre-Rinse Nozzle with free installation - a $150 value. This simple equipment change can save your business an estimated $500 annually in gas energy costs alone.

Ameren offers a custom incentive program for businesses that
incorporate energy-efficient design or high-performance equipment into
their operations. To qualify, you must be an electric customer of Ameren Illinois
and your project application must include:
- Payback in annual energy savings
- Calculations and documentation for the estimate of energy saved
- Pre-approval from the Ameren Illinois Utilities before purchasing equipment

Through the Act On Energy Retro Commissioning Programs, a pre-approved Retro Commissioning Service Provider (RSP) will evaluate your business' existing energy management systems to identify no-cost and low-cost energy efficiency measures that will optimize your systems.
