Tell BP to do more than just promise to protect Lake Michigan

Citing "ongoing regional opposition," BP America Chairman and President Bob Malone has announced that the company will avoid any increased pollution into Lake Michigan from its oil refinery in Whiting, Indiana.

However, BP still holds its permit to increase pollution and we need to make sure that its pledge is set in stone. BP should apply for a new discharge permit that doesn't allow for any increase in ammonia or toxic suspended solids.
